- At least one EM Clerkship beyond the UW required clerkship. Peferrably, do it as an "away rotation" at a school that has a residency program you are interested in. This will help broaden your training, inform you about the conditions there and help you get an interview come residency application time
- Sub-Internship in either Internal Medicine or Surgery (Note: All UW EM clerkships are Sub-I's!!!)
- Cardiology (very important for repetitive ECG practice)
- Radiology (reading films & CT's is essential in the ED)
- Nephrology (important for becoming comfortable handling fluids and electrolyte issues)
- Anesthesiology (more intubation and IV practice)
- Something with an ICU component to get comfortable with really sick patients
